Pictures from White Sands…

We've gotten to enjoy our first Christmas as a family with me away at work...not the most fun way to spend Christmas but Melissa and the kids were super flexible to accomidate my schedule.  I'm now half way done with my internal medicine rotation and have got about a week and a half left to go.  I was post call on Christmas eve but managed to get about three hours of sleep before we all went out to my mom and dad's house and celebrated Christmas a day early since I was working on Christmas day.

It's was so fun to watch the kiddos open Christmas gifts this year because both of them were old enough to understand about gifts and they were so excited about the little things they recieved from us and the rest of their aunts and grandparents.  We were so blessed by our church this year because we were not planning on buying anything for the kiddos this year but on the Sunday before Christmas some other churches in town had donated gifts for all the kids in our church and thus Luke and Karuna got some special surprises.

After work on Christmas we went back to my mom and dad's house and hung out with them and visited with my sister Chrisly who had returned from Michgan for the holidays.  Today has been a good restful day at home and the weather was in the 70s and so the kids and I worked in the yard doing some more landscaping...can we say again how much we love Texas weather.  We are planning on taking the kids for a surprise trip tonight to see a large train exhibt at one of the local malls which we are sure both of them (especially Luke) will love.  Other than that we have Melissa's aunt Sheryl come to visit us tomorrow for a couple of days with their kids and then we go in for Melissa's repeat ultrasound on the 30th.

Just in case any of your are interested we watched a wonderful movie about a week ago called Slum Dog Millionaire.  It's an independent film about the story of how an impoverished Indian teen becomes a contestant on the Hindi version of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire?"  It is told as a series of flashbacks from his life, some of which are hilarious while others are gut wrenching.  You can read more about the movie on IMDB here - Slum Dog Millionaire.  It is a striking portrayal of the divide between the wealthy and the poor in India but also a great romantic story.  Probably one of our favorite movies in quite a while...we would highly recommend it.

Since I had some extra time today I worked on some more our pictures from our recent trip out west.  As always just click the link below to watch the slide-show or you can click on individual pictures below to view them one by one and just use your arrow to key to navigate between the pictures.  Have a wonderful week!
